According to IMS Market Prognosis the Emerging Markets have been gaining market share in the last few years, and is expected to reach 28% of global spending by 2015. Brazil has grown 19% during 2011 based on sales through retail pharmacies, and was one of the top 5 countries in terms of M&A volume in 2010. This dynamic and high-potential growth of the Emerging markets provides the Pharma Industry with a huge opportunity to expand.

Clara is a biologist with a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology awarded by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After more than 10 years of experience with basic research and in start-up Biotech companies, Clara decided to explore new opportunities and achieved an MSc degree in Specialized Economic Analysis, at Barcelona GSE. Since 2011, Clara has been responsible for the projects involving Portugal and South America in Trifermed. Her scientific background combined with her business acumen makes her aware of the different perspectives in the negotiation of a pharmaceutical licensing deal. This combination ensures Trifermed finds the most suitable partners in these extremely interesting territories that are the Pharmerging Markets of Latin America.

In her free time Clara enjoys reading, cinema and photography. Travelling and getting to know new cultures and people is her biggest passion.
